Looking for a Principal Unreal Engine 5 Architect / Tech Director

We are building a Unreal Engine 5 game with a strong focus on scalable architecture, advanced systems, and AI-driven gameplay.

We are looking for a Principal Unreal Engine Architect / Tech Director to own the technical foundation of the project and help assemble and guide a senior engineering team.


Responsibilities

  • Define and own the UE5 project architecture

  • Make core technical decisions (engine systems, performance budgets, pipelines)

  • Design scalable systems across gameplay, AI, content, and tooling

  • Establish coding standards, code review processes, and technical guidelines

  • Mentor and support senior engineers

  • Collaborate closely with gameplay, AI, and content teams

  • Identify and mitigate technical risks early


Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional programming experience

  • Strong Unreal Engine 4/5 C++ expertise

  • Experience as Tech Director, Principal Engineer, or Lead Architect

  • Multiple shipped projects (PC and/or Console)

  • Deep understanding of:

    • Engine architecture

    • Performance and optimization

    • Production pipelines

  • Comfortable owning high-impact technical decisions


Nice to have

  • Experience with gameplay AI systems

  • Multiplayer-aware architecture

  • Experience building or scaling engineering teams

  • Teaching or mentoring background
