Hello Epic Games team,
I am writing to bring your attention to a longstanding issue with camera blend transitions in Sequencer that has persisted from Unreal Engine 5.0 through 5.5. When working in the editor, overlapping camera cuts with a defined blend duration display a smooth transition. However, upon rendering through Movie Render Queue, these blends are ignored, resulting in abrupt cuts instead of the intended smooth transitions.
Many users in the Unreal community (including forum, AnswerHub, and Reddit discussions) have reported the same behavior. Various workarounds—adjusting “When Finished” settings, using Pre-Roll or Warm-Up Frames, toggling “Use Camera Cut for Warm Up,” lowering Temporal Sample Count, etc.—often provide only partial or inconsistent fixes. In some cases, even those do not resolve the problem.
This bug significantly impacts cinematic production workflows, as smooth camera transitions are a crucial element for high-quality storytelling. We would greatly appreciate any confirmation that this issue is on your radar, as well as information on whether an official fix or reliable workaround will be included in upcoming releases or hotfixes for UE 5.5 and beyond.
Thank you for your time and for continuously improving Unreal Engine. We look forward to your response and a potential resolution for this camera blend bug.
Sincerely,
A concerned user
