LogVehicleUtility: Warning: Spring configuration is invalid! Please make sure the center of mass is located inside the area covered by the springs.

Hi, newbie here so sorry for dumb question. Im trying out the chaos vehicles atm, and i keep getting the same error, even tho i tried every possible configuration of bones i can export from blender.

LogVehicleUtility: Warning: Spring configuration is invalid! Please make sure the center of mass is located inside the area covered by the springs.

I did everything as tutorials said, disabled collisions for wheels, enabled kinematic physics,
set the blueprints for rear and back ones, and set throttle input so it drives.

I than run a game and it just stays in place.

No idea what i could be doing wrong, not a lot of tutorials on it on the internet, thanks for any help in advance!

Im having the same issue, did you manage to solve it?

Hi, i ended re-rigging all of the connections in blender, but it needs to be done in a special way, here is how:

  • Import model
  • set the model so it faces the X arrow
  • Set unit scale to ,01
    Zrzut ekranu 2024-08-23 192702
  • If needed, scale the model down to a desired size (measure with a ruler)
  • click ctrl+a and apply scale and rotation ← That is important, that’s what i missed before and it got all messed up
  • cut the parts
  • attach bones
    *** apply scale and rotation**
  • Parent everything to the body
  • Export to OBJ and keep only meshes and armature, X forward, Z up, Smoothing Faces ← those are pretty important too

If you still have the problem, in the vehicle settings (movement component i think) there is a way to set an offset for a center of mass.

You can turn on center of mass visibility in the preview to see if its not somewhere weird, if it is try to move it.

It should help but not sure, I’m only using the engine for a month now so maybe someone smarter has an even better way
