Hello together.
I recently tried to rig interconected chain links which are fastened at 2 endpoints. Its not a classic chain but a whole bunch of segments that are connected on 2 points to the previous segment and 2 to the next one and so on - like on a tank-tread. So they should only be able to rotate along one axis.
I managed to get a ‘2 endpoints’ behavior by using a FABRIK node with low iterations in an animation blueprint.
The problem I encountered was that the FABRIK node rotates in all axis and I just want the bones to rotate on the z-axis.
Is there a way to lock the rotation axis of bones in UE or to tell the FABRIK solver to just solve on one axis (which should be cheaper anyways)?
Thanks for any sugestions.
