LocHub 1.2.0: AI-assisted localization in the editor, now from any source language

LocHub is an editor plugin for Unreal Engine 5.6–5.8 for AI-assisted localization. It translates your project’s text with the AI provider you choose, under your own key. Built-in checks and an optional second AI catch the problems. You review everything in one grid inside the editor, and LocHub pulls the result back into Unreal’s own localization archives and .locres.

New in 1.2.0

  • Any source language. LocHub translates from the localization target’s native culture. A game written in Chinese sets Setup Native Culture to zh-Hans and translates into English, Japanese, Korean or anything else.
  • Cost estimates count each Chinese, Japanese or Korean character as one token.

What it checks

  • Format arguments ({0}, {PlayerName}), plural forms for every target language and rich-text tags are validated twice: once by LocHub, and again by Unreal’s own validator right before anything is written. Broken text cannot be approved, not even by hand.
  • Supported providers are Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek and Grok, plus any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, including local models through Ollama or LM Studio.
  • Human edits are never overwritten by the AI, and every job has a hard spending cap.
