I was working fine with the localization dashboard while on 5.1, Gathering text and compiling translations were working fine. However, when I updated the project to 5.3, Nothing works anymore. If I tried to gather, count or compile, it keeps loading and nothing happens. No log no output nothing. Tried to delete the target and the cultures and even tried to delete Localization folder from content and start fresh but still I can’t gather a single text What could be the problem?

Hey there, I have a similar issue and am wondering if it’s just 5.3 as a whole that has this issue in Localization Dashboard.
I’m new to game dev and started a new project altogether from the first person template and developed a simple platforming game in first person using only blueprint for Windows. The game has captions at the bottom of the screen on each level.
However, I’m unable to package the game without localization being put in place apparently so I attempted to start that process but it does not ever get past “Waiting for server”. I have attached the log from the Gather Text attempt.
I have tried numerous YouTube tutorials and google searches and forum posts but none have an answer for this issue so far.

Hi @SupportiveEntity, this did solve the localization dashboard issue I had come across! However, upon the packaging of the game being completed, I now have the following issue when trying to launch the exe file for the game:

Hey there @MindofPerry! I’m personally unfamiliar with the International Components for Unicode, but doing a bit of research on them at the moment. In the meantime, check out this thread to see if these fixes from Adian work and let me know how it goes. Heads up, before deleting anything in your project folder, please back your project up.
I’ve encounter same issue with latest 5.4.1 engine here. Neither gather text nor compile text works correctly.
Only thing happened is one log is written in output like below:

Seems the gathering process cannot be launched.
The issue remains after I disable live coding. Seems something goes wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks.
I’ve figured out that this issue is caused by a out date plugin in my project.
There will be a message box about out date plugin pop up before launch the editor. And this also happens when launch any UnrealEditor-Cmd. As the result, the gathering process will be blocked by the popup.
After I upgrade the plugin, the issue is gone.
