Hello - haven’t posted here yet, but still somewhat early on my Unreal journey. I recently took an 8 week course so have a good understanding of the basics but looking to refine everything. Which brings me to Live Link…
I tried turning off my firewall and changing my network from “public” to “private” but no luck. I even tried two different iOS devices, but still no success.
I did notice that when I open the Blueprint of the Metahuman the “Compile” button has a warning on it. When I hit “Compile” the nodes show the moving dots (not sure the technical name for this) across the node tree, but then stop. Not sure if that is a good sign or a bad one.
I am having this same problem with UE 5.3.2 and the latest version of Live Link Face on an iPhone 13. I have watched the same tutorial as the OP, and a dozen other ones. They all act like this “just works”. But it doesn’t and nothing I do fixes it.
In addition to what the OP mentions, I have a converter to connect my iPhone via ethernet. My phone can ping my Win 10 machine, and the Win 10 machine can ping my phone. I’ve used WireShark to see that the phone is sending data to the Win 10 machine.
I have also tried various ways of setting UDP, and of course I have the Live Link, ARKit, ARKit Face support and the Metahumans plugins enabled (I’ve tried with different kinds of characters). Both devices are on the same subnet and I’ve turned off the firewall. I’ve even reinstalled UE, and of course rebooted a million times. I’m starting to think that maybe I should go back to 5.2, because in 5.3.2, this just does not seem to work.
Assuming it is not a bug, I’m running out of ideas. The devices can talk to each other. But the Live Link plugin will not acknowledge Live Link Face running on the iPhone.
Does anyone have this working on 5.3.2? Is there something the tutorials are leaving out, because maybe they think it’s so obvious as to not even warrant mentioning? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
