Linux: Couldn't set association for project. Check the file is writable

Cannot run the editor (4.22.1-0+++UE4+Release-4.22 517 0
) in Linux after a fresh installation. I’ve seen solutions for Windows but is there a work-around on Linux? I’m using Ubuntu 19.04.
