I currently have heroic launcher installed and I want to try playing Fortnite on Linux (Ubuntu MATE specifically). Will this work? I don’t want to download something that takes a lot of space for it not to work.
I noticed that this had gone unanswered for some time, so I’ll provide at least a little insight as I see it currently:
Tim Sweeney stated in this tweet that until Linux gets to the “tens of millions” of (Fortnite player) users - there will be no compatibility. Sure, you can probably start Fortnite, possibly even jump into the lobby, but Easy Anti-Cheat will kick in as soon as your boots hit the ground in a match and you’ll get booted.
In short, until Tim Sweeney et al. deem it lucrative to do so, Fortnite on Linux looks to be a slim possibility. I hope this helps.
Ok, thanks for the reply, I undestand. I guess I can just try using windows for Fortnite.
