Linux and Mac Plugins are not working(not showing up the FAB options)

Summary

The Fab options are just missing in the Unreal Editor on Linux & Mac OS.

What type of bug are you experiencing?

Plugins

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Build the source version of Unreal 5.4.4 release on the platform.
  2. Start a empty project.
  3. Enable Fab plugins & restart the project.
  4. The Fab options are no where to be accessible in Unreal Editor.

Expected Result

The fab options should be there like those precompiled windows Unreal Editor.
And the fab window shall show me my library.

Observed Result

No Fab options. HEARTBROKEN.

Platform

Unreal Editor 5.4.4

Operating System

Linux 6.11.3(Gentoo)
Mac OS 15.1

Additional Notes

My Unreal engine and Fab plugins are properly built and enabled.

Bump, may someone take a look at this?
It’s really horrifying to be totally blocked away from my library.

okay, just forget it. Fab on Unreal 5.5 is working as expected. I don’t care about this old version anymore.

How is it working for you ?

For me putting the plugin in Engine/Plugins fails miserably or the only option I have is to build from source ? Their documentation shows nothing !

Someone please help !

same issue on windows, I need to use 5.4 because the plugin i want for my companies game isn’t supported yet in 5.5.1 (which i know fab shows up for on the engine, but in ue5.4.4 source build it doesn’t appear at all even though you have the plugin checked).

I found a temporary work around, for those on 5.4.4 or other versions that need to use a plugin that hasn’t been updated to 5.5 or 5.5.1 and beyond. Download the nonsource from the epic launcher for that version, it should have the ability to add the fab plugin. add it, and then download the plugin you want. find your engine install location. I went to my nonsource directory/version(5.4)/Engine/marketplace/ and dragged the plugin into the corresponding source engine folder.

This is a temporary fix and I don’t yet know if it will cause issues when upgrading engine version however.

I am marking anything related to windows as off topic. Apparently you are not reading the title.
