Link Static Mesh to camera

I finally got some very good looking water working which is great on performance, until I start copying the plane multiply times to fill the map which basically brings me down to 5 fps.
So I “came” with a solution. I want to somehow link the water plane static mesh to the camera so it moves with the player but only horizontally.

How could I achieve this?

this is the easy way, you pass the location of your pawn, to your water plane keeping the z of your water of course, mmm i dont know is the mechanic of your game you can also attach the water to your pawn but keep relative distance, check pic.
