Hi all. My packaged game looks great and fine. However, when my Friend who has a much better gaming PC (and others who streamed the game on Twitch) for some of them, some levels looked EXTREMELY washed out and extremely bright and horrible with no shadows etc.
It’s really bizarre and I can’t figure out why or how or what to do.
Attached are two pics. One showing a screenshot of ME running the packaged build on a low-medium gaming PC. And the other picture is a screenshot of my friend running it on a higher end gaming PC. And this is what some levels looked like for Twitch streamers etc.
For them, it’s also only a couple of levels. It’s not every single level that looks crazy bright, just some.
ANY tips and guidance would be hugely appreciated!
Hello, Welcome to the Forums.
I wonder if this involves cards with ray-tracing ability.
One way to poke at this would be through the scalability settings - as long as you’re packaging in ‘Development’ mode (as opposed to ‘Shipping’) you’ll have access to the console with the tilde (~) key, and can try out some of those commands to see what visual changes happen.
thanks. will make a dev build now and ask hmi to test some commands. which commands do you reccomend he tries to see what the cause is?
I’d start with sg.EffectsQuality
0-3 since it looks to be related to the lighting. Also sg.PostProcessQuality
since there are things related to eye adaptation in there.
Before asking your friend to test, try those commands yourself and see if you can replicate what they are seeing.
For the ray-tracing speculation. What GPU do you have? What GPU do they/(+twitch streamers?) have?
