Light of sun looks better in editor than in movie render. How can I fix that?

Hi people,

I´m using the sequencer to make a lyric video and I have a sunset scene set up. The problem I have is that the light/sun in the editor (scalability low and high) looks much better than when I render it through a cine camera. I´ve tried many things but haven´t found my mistake yet. Is there a common mistake maybe that I´m missing?

any help is greatly appreciated, hope I attached the images correctly

Looks like you have color clipping. Render to a format that has more than 8 bit compression. Take a look at ToneMap settings and color calibration methods. Start with this video for most of the basics.

Hey Scott,

thanks for the tip about the color. I experimented a bit, and tried rendering in exr, which improved the color a bit.
I had disable tonecurve activated and that was my problem. I had it disabled because I saw on a video that you could almost a raw/log look from it… Anyway, I deleted that and now it works and looks great.

Thanks!

Glad to hear. The nuances of color in Unreal can take some effort.
