Hello guys,
I have a point cloud generated in DJI Terra, when I import it to RS it seems like points are lost.
Why is this?
Are there any work-arounds?
I will attach one image from Terra with the complete cloud and one from RS with points lost.
I just imported my terrestrial lidar scans from a Leica RTC360 and noticed something similar. For example, one of my scans (when viewed in CloudCompare) shows about 68 million points. The same scan in RS shows 5 separate lsp files with 40,000 points each. Automatic subsampling?
Hi @Nacce and @DustinH , this is normal for RS. It is not displaying all the points. The “sparse” point cloud you see after the import consists of tie points from the import process. If you open one LSP in a 2D view and in the SCENE 2D VIEW tab you enable Tie points you will se green dots on the LSP. Those green dots are the points you see in the 3D view. But as I wrote, this is just for viewing, all the points of the LSP will be used for mesh reconstruction.
Also when you create a mesh and render it in Vertices mode you probably won’t see all the points. The number of points rendered is controled but the Max points to display setting located in the Applications settings.
