Licensing Content

Hi Everyone, brand new here this morning.

I am learning more and more about 3D and looking into learning Unreal (as Ive been a Blender user for some time).

I’ve been asked to produce some animation/video for an exhibit and I want to download a model from Fab (Ive just signed-up) but the license is a little confusing? I’m happy to tick Professional (and not Private) because the company this will be for as the end-use is a professional company.

What I’m not sure about is the model I have found has the ‘Standard License’ attached to it and I am not sure if this means it’s useable in a commercial product? If not, how does one get a different license for a specific model or, does the individual creator each license when they upload a specific model?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Skarr

I know it might be confusing since they named License Horribly Bad.

Personal License is for Individual/Company who is earning less the 100K UDS / year at the time of Purchase, and yes it can be used Commercially.

Professional License on the other hand is for Individuals/Company earning more then 100K / year

Regarding Company as End User, You have to expand that on what context and your Relation to that Company to decide which license will be best

Thank you, appreciate your reply

I work alone so I guess I can select the first tier price model as I earn under the $100k but, if the model I purchase is licensed as ‘Standard License’, is it still ok to use this in a video animation in a public place inside the commercial property for a paying job?

I think reading what you say it is ok, I just want to check b4 purchasing today as I would be devastated if I make a proposal using this model, have the client say yes - awesome! Then find out down the road we need to pay more money to license it!?

Thanks for your help

Personal and Professional Tiers are Classification of Standard License.
I think it is fine to use Personal Tier since you are not representing End Company instead you are exporting End Product of your Service to that Company.
