I`m little bit confused with licensing. I got a weird sittuation.
Some time ago I made a small project and I bought few assets on marketplace. After next couple of months I made a company with my colleague. I bought more stuff on my own account but the invoces had details with our new company. We split after some time later. Now, to whom are those all assets? We agreed that my colleague will have all the projects we made.
So, in this case my colleague is the owner of those assets on my account? Or I am still the owner? If he is, then how can I split those assets from my account? I know that this is not possible and this is a problem now. I would like to also use those assets but there is no option to re-buy assets if you already have them.
How those this looks like from a legal point of view? I guess my friend is not the owner, but he only owns those assets for those particular projects. But we bought it from our company, not from my privat money so the invoices are with the details.
Maybe there is a way to delete those assets and rebuy them?
For assets purchased by the company, the company can use them for any permitted purpose - which means you can no longer use them after you leave the company.
For assets purchased by you, you can use them for any permitted purpose. The company can continue to use them but only for that one particular project.
The thing is that the assets were bought by my on my own account but I paid with our money (companys).
Lets assume that I cant use them, how can I re-buy them then if they are still on my private account? I cant give s someone permission to my own account with other stuff/messages etc.
On the other hand I founf this thread with simillar sittuation and the co-owner had the rights for the project but now you claim differently.
I am little confused with this. The assets were bought by my on my private account by not with my money and details on the invoices are on the old company.
The important detail is that one party will retain full use rights and the other party, if still working on the joint project, has limited use rights just for that project. In this case, it sounds like you’re splitting for good and not continuing to work on the project. But, we don’t permit asset transfers. So if you keep the assets and want to retain use, the former company should buy their own from the Marketplace.
