Hi! Could you help me, please?
I have a YouTube channel on which I plan to post videos created in Unreal using Megascans library models. Is this legal? Or am I breaking the convention of only using models within the engine?
Thanks!
Hey there @Blascoviz! As long as you’re using the models inside of Unreal and not any other software, you aren’t breaking the license. Rendered video from unreal is still within scope. You can even modify the assets no problem, but you must still use them within the engine. Your use case is perfectly fine!
Note that there are changes coming to 5.4 onward to film/video content for companies that make over $1 Million in revenue. If you intend to make youtube videos, that will likely not apply to you for quite some time, though that will still need to be tracked.
