Level is gone after computer restart?

I’ve been working for the past 3 days on a level , and the dead-line is tomorrow. After I restarted my computer (Unreal engine 4 was closed at the time) only the one level that I’ve worked is missing.
I did not upgrade and I’m using Unreal Engine 4 Preview 6 4.70.
I’ve restarted the computer before and never lost any data…
Please HELP me fast.

It’s not actually deleted I can still find the level in “C:\Users\Ryan\Documents\Unreal Projects\MyProject2\Content\StarterContent” BUT I can’t find it in the editor nor open/import it back. It’s hidden from the editor.

Try removing the .umap from your contents folder and then adding it back in. Does this cause it to appear again?

Yeah, already fixed it. Thank’s anyway. One more question I keep getting “Insufficient disk space” when I try to update. Has Unreal Engine 4 got a 20gb + update? I have more than 20 gb on that disk and I can’t update it…

Hi RyanSilva,

This is a known issue. The launcher calculates all engine versions when looking for disk space so if you have multiple engine versions on your computer it will add all of those together when calculating how much space it “needs”. We are looking into a fix for this. For 4.7 preview, what I would do is uninstall the 4.7 engine and then reinstall the engine instead of just updating, it will reduce the amount of space taken up so that the engine doesn’t give you the error.

Okay, thank you very much for the help.

How did you fix it? I’ve tried removing the umap from my content folder and adding it back but my level is still missing.

I don’t really remember :frowning: I think I found the answer on google or figured it out all alone. Try looking in : “YourProject/Saved/Backup” also check this answer: Missing level map - Platform & Builds - Epic Developer Community Forums

OK, I’ll try that and see what happens.
