@Shadow.Storm
Hi, I usually don’t tag people, but I thought I’d try.
Is there any chance this has been finally addressed in final 5.0, or will we have to wait longer?

Looks like nothing has changed in UE 5
Yeah… Still have a bulletpoint checklist of what to change each time I create a new project
It’s been 2 and a half years since the promise it’s on the radar, but nothing has changed
Yes, as a UE novice and technically challenged person, I struggled to remember which of the 5000 settings were important to change (now i have a list like you)
Only now I realize the export prefs button works per category, but there are so many (counted like 100 plus excluding plugins) its ridiculous
I totally agree with your first post; i too wish it were more user friendly. A simple ‘export/import all Editor Prefs/Proj Settings’ should be the base standard (isnt it like this in most software?)
Tech is meant to relieve manual labor/ aid our productivity. The advances in Rendering, Strata mat etc are a stark contrast to this unintuitive, labor intensive import export method.
I think its truly Unreal… lol
I just tried to do something with the BaseUserPrefs files but in the end I broke the engine so I had to reinstall it - guys, these settings are such nonsense
It’s been now 3 years since the promise to address this and nothing has happened. Since @Shadow.Storm doesn’t have staff tag on their account I am not sure Epic even has UX team anymore
Has this seriously not been resolved yet?
I have been banging my head against the wall for 2 days now and still can’t figure out how to save my Editor Preferences forever so I don’t have to redo them each time I start a new project. It’s mind boggling how this is even an issue! I wonder how other people are working with Unreal Engine, do they just not adjust preferences at all and just stick with the defaults so they don’t have to worry about setting them up each time?
Friendly reminder. 3 Years later still struggling with Editor preferences
3.5, and yes, unfortunately this will probably never get fixed
