Lerp between two material functions

Hi guys,
I have a question and I cant find a solution here on board. Is it possible to Lerp two material functions via vertex painting?

At the moment I use the most simple setup for this, but the base color is obviously not enough to get the right pbr look. It needs the other textures and here comes the material function into play. I saw a tutorial about blending two materials and he used material functions and I thought this could work for lerping two materials, too. But it doesn’t - yet.

For sure, I could lerp every missing texture to get it right, but these would create dozens of nodes and in case there is a chance to tidy it up, I prefer this method. Is it possible?
