Legs not moving when playing an anim montage

Hello!

I recently purchased this animation pack on Fab and started implementing it on my project. Everything works fine except for an anim montage I’m using for when the player turns the flashlight on or off, which stops the legs from moving.

I have tried changing the “Montage (DefaultGroup)” setting in the montage to “DefaultGroup.UpperBody”, which works almost perfect since the animation has the character move some of its back and changing this setting limits the animation to the arms. I’m attaching a picture of the anim montage node (although I don’t think there’s much margin for error there) and a video of how the animation looks when the default group is set to “DefaulGroup.UpperBody” and how it looks when it is set to “DefaultGroup.DefaultSlot”.

Likely, you have some form of IK on and the montage does not have the curves required for IK to work…

Hi! Yes, the default rig is still in my code. I’ve seen people swapping the places of the rig and the slot nodes (blue arrows), but that doesn’t do anything in my case. I have also tried:

  • Connecting the slot node directly to the output pose node
  • Connecting the blend poses by bool to to the rig then the output pose node, ignoring the slot node
  • Connecting the blend poses by bool to the output pose node, ignoring both the slot and rig nodes

None of this things worked, I’ve watched multiple tutorials & read a multitude of posts about similar cases and none worked either.

Would you mind telling me of what things you’d need a screenshot of to try to help me further? Here’s a screenshot of all the curves settings in the montage, all empty.

All u need is to combine the two poses together using Layered Blend Per Bone. In ur Anim BP Anigraph, make new cache pose of the Default state machine. Search for it and reconnect to LBPB at BasePose. Follow up with cache again this time combined with a Slot ‘Default Slot’ and plug it in BlendPoses. After ,click on LBPB node and in top-right Config under Layer Setup hit Plus icon and add an array element. click those little arrows till u see Bone Name. Enter the bone u want, preferably Spine_01. Lastly connect the last exec to the Output pose. Hit compile and ur anim should play whilst you walk.
