LEGO® Brick Grid Island starter template

Hello LEGO® Island Creators! My name is Tom, and I am the Creator Advocate Lead here at LEGO G.A.M.E. We’ve been hard at work at The LEGO Group working on new features you can add to your LEGO Islands and today marks the first drop of 2025!

We are excited to announce that the new LEGO Brick Grid Island starter template is available for Fortnite Creative and UEFN. This new material allows you to add the magic of LEGO bricks to your primitives and environments.

Not only will this new grid help you add more LEGO flair to your projects, but it will also help you design at minifig scale!

Tip: Set your snap settings in UEFN to a 16 for horizontal and 19.2 for vertical to make sure your LEGO elements can snap accurately.

*Fun Fact: This is accurate measurements in UEFN units for LEGO Bricks

You can use this new grid by opening the ‘empty’ LEGO® Brick Grid Island template from the UEFN Launcher.

Along with this amazing new grid, you can now use the following devices in your LEGO Islands:

This is only the first release for 2025, and you can bet there’s more coming from us.

As you’re working with these new tools, we’d love to see screenshots of your projects. Please drop them below!

Hi Tom, this is Tom here
Would be good if a more detailed and maybe a small demo of this new grid island was here for more information. Also the animated image here is very hard to see what it is showing, can we get a video instead?
I have jumped in and messed around with the new grid island and it is very cool, the grid is great, but the exisiting Lego walls etc do not follow the 16 or 19.2 snapping which is very confusing.

Great start to 2025 and love the idea of snapping working correctly, but still hoping for all Lego meshes to work the same.

Hey Tom!! We have a video in the discord  There are some platform limitations currently

I think we should do a video on 16/19.2 snapping as well. it’s hard to explain through text

Please make LEGO islands not require being in an Island Creator program. Make agreeing to the LEGO license agreement to enable LEGO islands its own process, and so it’s not intertwined with the Island Creator process. I want to be able to make LEGO islands for personal use and to play with friends in my party, without needing to actually join the Island Creator program. I can already do that with regular Fortnite islands in Creative mode, so why not LEGO islands too?
