LEGENDS of EPICA - A Saga Role Playing Game

That’s great that it’s working for you! I am tryin it out, too, and it seems to work really well.

Also, legends of Epica has already come such a long way! It’s looking great!

Hej thanks drummer, still a long way, but basically the main hurdles have been solved. Though still need to integrate matchmaking with Gamesparks, storing/loading player items from stash chest, and find a good melee combat approach. Currently in the process to setup a starting zone, then plan to begin testing the multiplayer for real. The great thing with Gamesparks is, that if i no longer have to mess with all the network infrastructure, scaling, administration etc., and can store the player progress pretty easily.

Testing starting zone and some mob action, and the newly added social system, no real combat yet.

Dungeon scene

This small dungeon will probably be the first big destination for players to level up and for obtaining better gear.

Made a trailer, unfortunately still have to wait before i can tackle combat.

Added AI mage, still tweaking speed and overall crowd behavior. Next plan, add archer and player combat.

Prepared Archer models, next add the related AI logic.

Added ranger, and new hit detection system.

Next, another enemy with a mount, and beginning to work on the player combat mechanics.

Added AI guards and more, a brief video showcase…

Gamesparks based skill system, skills are dynamically fetched based on NOSQL records, and initially setup within a structure. It took awhile to make this all work to get desired icon art, gamesparks communication, and the related code to setup a uniform grid, and populate it with the various skill slots. The system to generate the skill grid is based on the RPG inventory grid blueprint code, but heavily modified. Next in line are additional active skills, and if there is spare time test other options for skill slot layouts. However, so far the skill system is in place and working, and it feels good.

Looks fantastic! I really like the UI layout too =)

Thank you .

Legends of Epica will soon commence with phase two of the development cycle, presenting well crafted gameplay in the run up to the fundraiser campaign. Eventually, we require more team members, and if you are interested and skilled in Unreal blueprint programming, or good in character modelling and or animation, please contact me, will add you to a first contact list, notified once the project is ready to hand out work contracts. Especially this project seeks to fill a senior C++/Blueprint programmer position, for someone remote in Berlin City, Germany, around December 2017 or early 2018.

Gameplay functionality integrated so far:
Character, multiplayer, melee and spell combat, cloud based storage of player progress, a ladder, character creation, general combat AI for the most part, basic shop, inventory and stash system. Work on quest, dialogue, and skill system has begun.

Watch a teaser for Legends of Epica, alpha test likely to start early 2018.

The beach, usually a nice place to get away from the daily stress, to relax and listen to the sound of the everlasting waves approaching the shore, and receding. But something is different this time.

Loot is distributed via bags (usually clicking the slain body), or dropped to the near surface. What do you prefer, WOW (World of Warcraft), like loot distribution, via bags, or Diablo3/POE style loot drops? Comment below, and share your thoughts.
