Learning course playback buffering too slow

Hello, I’m unable to watch Converting Blueprint to C++ | Course at faster speeds, it’s constantly buffering. The speed of buffering is varying, for a while, it works without issue and then it hitches every 1 second.

  1. It’s not a network issue, at least not on my side, see my 880Mbps Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test
  2. Dropping the quality from 1080p to 504p (1/4 of throughput) doesn’t help.

My money would be on some misconfiguration that throttles speeds slightly more than it’s supposed to, because someone forgot about 2x speed, for example. The fact that a significant lowering of the bitrate has basically no effect on it leads me to that conclusion.

This is happening on every video I try to watch, even without trying to speed it up. Would really like to see this fixed. Trying to let the video buffer in the background doesn’t work either, so it’s currently impossible to watch these videos without buffering every few seconds

November 2024, same issues. My connection speed is 240MBps, but no matter the quality I set the video to it stops to buffer every 5-10 seconds. I also suspect a buffer/throttling misconfiguration.

  • Leaving the video paused to buffer does not help.
  • Quality settings make a slight difference, but the buffering pauses make the videos impossible to follow even at the lowest quality setting.
  • Playback speed seems to affect it a little, but the issue is consistently there at 1x speed.
