My name is and I am student / programmer for a small London based software team called Indirection Software.
As part of our work on a yet to be released game, we have teamed up with the folks over at Leap Motion to bring a complete implementation of their APIs and technology into Unreal Engine 4.
We are hoping to have early releases of our plugin over the course of the next month, but this thread is to get the word out and to get some ideas and feedback from you guys.
Our initial release is heavily focused around getting the whole API integrated with blueprints and integrated with the demo projects that ship with Unreal. We will publish our full roadmap, issue tracker and source code ( We can’t publish at this point because it isn’t ready and we are still agreeing the exact license with Leap themselves Bracketception, it will be free for everyone with an Unreal License ] ). We’re also really keen to hear about any projects or ideas you have for Leap once it’s released, and any demo scenes you might like to see.
If you would like to know more please post your thoughts below or get in touch via PM.
Very cool, ! I believe we have another community developer who is working on adding LEAP support to the engine, you might want to sync up with him and try to join forces! https://github.com/EpicGames/UnrealEngine/pull/112
I have a LEAP here on my desk and have been itching to try it in the engine, so I can’t wait!
This would be great! The only thing that is keeping our game from being developed on Unreal4 was Leap Integration, so we had been demoing with Unity. Can’t wait until it is done!
