My tree is an imported .FBX tree model from blender. I used the curve plugin to make the tree. I have a problem where my leaves disappear. I have spent the better part of the afternoon on this issue. I have not been able to find anything specific; further, there don’t seem to be any current video on leaf material creation. Anyway here are some screen shots.
This shot is of my tree.
this photo is of my material setup.
Finally, this screenshot is my material settings.
Thank you for your help.
also I forgot to mention I am using 4.12.4.
I also forgot to mention that the tree is 14 thousand triangles.
This may or may not be helpful, and I don’t know how you are doing it, but in 95% of the trees I’ve encountered, the leaves are made with a bunch of 2 sided intersecting planes, similar to plants/bushes.

and what about the bark? Thank you for the advice. I fixed the leaf issue. Now the bark renders as a grey blob around my mesh.
Just when I thought I solved the leaf issue. My bark reappears and it stretched out across the mesh. It looks hideous. And the leaves vanish.
First things first:
Did you UV map the tree properly?
how do I uv map the tree? I tried and it would not let me.
I figured out the issue. I was using one texture on the leaf for 16,000 Tris and the bark texture for 17,000 Tris. In other words I was spreading out the texture over the entire tree rather than rendering it one at a time.
