I love the design of the new launcher,
however I’ve noticed with every update of the launcher, the actual launching part gets slower.
It used to take seconds to load, and over the last few updates it’s starting to take minutes.

I’m not sure if it is my end or if anyone else is experiencing ,
If it is a common it would be nice if up at the settings cog at the top right there
were options to disable some of the fanciness of the launcher to speed up loading.

Yeah, just noticed, “Please wait” phase takes more than 30 seconds =/

Hi everyone,

Im attempting to reproduce on my end, however the “please wait” screen takes ~5 seconds for me to load in, so it may be hardware dependent. Additionally, it takes ~14 seconds for the Unreal Project Browser to come up for 4.7 preview 5. Can you post your dxdiags so I can see what type of hardware you have so we might test on something comparable if available?

I wouldn’t be surprised if it were a hardware.

I don’t have the most up to date rig though the engine its self runs just fine,
but it would be nice to launch a little faster at the expense of visuals as an option.

Hey Guys,
is a known for the new launcher. Users who have more entitlements for things (Engine versions, UT, Marketplace items) will experience longer loading times when logging in. is something were working on fixing for the next update.

That makes sense,
I suppose I’ll clear out some of my old projects, vault, and engine versions and see if that helps.

only started to occur (for me) since the latest launcher update yesterday, before that update the new launcher was only taking ~5 sec to load. Since yesterday’s update it is taking anywhere from 30 seconds to more than 2 minutes to load (longest I waited was 2min 25 sec).

Not sure if that helps you to track down the cause, but wanted to mention it just in case. :slight_smile:

I also noticed,

I get a flash of like three vertical panels after the please wait.
I don’t know what they say because it flashes to fast, but I know I saw the elemental demo, I think a UT screenshot, and something I don’t recognize.
It immediately goes away then the normal launcher appears.

Not sure if that has anything to do with it, or if anyone else see it as well.

won’t exactly help as the entitlements checking is something tied to your account not exactly what you have downloaded.

What you’re seeing flash in that split second is a page for users who have downloaded the launcher but log into an account with no entitlements. It’s basically a page to let them get UE4/UT/etc. added to their account. Since you have entitlements though that page goes away.
