Launcher reports, "Marketplace CLOSED"

Is there a way to get Marketplace to “open” in Launcher?

Hey Huperniketes!

This is a message that will appear for routine maintenance. Once the maintenance is complete, all you need to do is log back into the launcher and you should see the marketplace content instead of the picture above. Let me know if you have the same issue afterwards.

Thanks!

Reuben

How long does it take to do routine maintenance? It’s been more than 2 days! And it still shows up closed!

And don’t mark this answer as resolved, when it obviously isn’t.

Hey Huperniketes!

Sorry to hear you are still having troubles. Are you still seeing this image when you logout of your account on the launcher? If so, can you tell me if you are running the launcher on a Mac or PC? This is an issue I would like to look forward into since Marketplace content is up for buyer at this time.

Thanks!

Reuben

Hi Reuben,

Yes, I’m still seeing the Marketplace CLOSED sign whether I restart Launcher or logout and log in again manually.

I’m running Mac OS X 10.10.3 (Yosemite) on a Macbook Pro.

Hi Huperniketes!

Under Library >> Application Support >> Epic >> Epic Games Launcher >> Data >> Content Cache >> EMS

Delete the EMS Folder and then clear the recycle bin when doing so. Re-open the launcher after log back into your account. Every time you restart the launcher the EMS folder will be re-created if you delete it This should resolve the CLOSED sign issue when loading the marketplace.

Let me know if you are still having issues afterwards.

Thanks!

Reuben

Still having the same issue, Reuben.

In the Data directory are both “Content Creation” and “EMS”. EMS has the sub-directory “EpicGamesLauncher”. Deleting any of those three, and all three, then restarting Launcher results in no change in behavior.

Okay. To gather some more information on this issue then. What we will need is to view your launcher logs.

Click on the cog icon on the top right corner of your launcher and select “Show Launcher Logs”. If you would for me please attach the most recent text document to your reply.

Thanks!

Reuben

Here, Reuben, and thank you for continuing to look into it. link text

No problem! I am going to have someone take a long at these and see if we can pinpoint where the problem is. I will get back with you once I have some further info. Hang tight!

Yes, it’s a case-sensitive file system.

Hi Huperniketes,

Looks like you are using a Mac. Are you aware if your Mac has case-sensitive file system (this is not the default)?

If you’re unsure how to check it you can look at the following guide:

The launcher and Unreal Engine itself isn’t fully compatible with case-sensitive file systems unfortunately. You’ll have to disable that back to the default of non-case-sensitivity to fix your issue.
