I’m an early adopter and installing UE 4.11 preview upgrades whenever it comes out. Today I made the mistake of typing into a browser window while the UE upgrade were installing in the background. Suddenly a confirmation dialog popped up and I managed to cancel it instantly with one of my keypresses.
- I’m aware of thewiki.unrealengine.com/UE4_Installation_Troubleshooting page.
- I’m aware that you possibly cannot avoid that dialog from appearing.
- I know that this is not an UE issue. It is due to the lousy UI design of today’s operating systems.
We would like to ask for one simple thing here:
Please do not re-download the 1.5GB installer when the user clicks on Resume. It is supposed to continue the installation. Ideally it should just re-launch that very last installer the poor user managed to cancel. For me it was not a big deal on a 100Mbps connection, but many people are not that lucky to have this luxury.
Thank you.
