Launcher froze and nothing is working?

Exactly what the titel is saying, while trying to install UE, the epic games launcher completely froze (not WHILE installing, the window to install opended but I never got the chance to click anything) and I had to forced close everything. Now the launcher is working again (or so I thought) but I can’t install UE as the install button is in fact not clickable. Deleting everything is also not working because (despite forced closing everything & restarting the device) it can’t remove nor repair itself (or get deleted manually) is it’s apparently “running in the background” which it technically shouldn’t be able to? Idk if that’s a windows thing or happens occasionally but I’m kinda running out of options and would appreciate some help please

Hi @7hestr4l, here are some possible solutions that might help you:

  1. Check that you have enough storage space on the drive where you’re installing Unreal Engine.
  2. Run the installer as administrator.
  3. Check if your antivirus is blocking the installation; disabling it temporarily might work.
  4. Sometimes, the servers may not be working properly , try installing it at different times of the day.
  5. If none of the above works, you could check the system requirements documentation for the Epic Games Launcher. Heey, thank you for the tips, unfortunately it’s not quite helping becuase all of those should be fine yet yk it’s not really doing anything.
So far I’ve tried opening it every few hours, the launcher is still running though it’s making my mouse disappear most of the times, meaning I have to forced close it again because it won’t let me click anything at all (however, the movement is sometimes visible by buttons lighten up despite not being able to be clicked). Still no option to install UE either as it’s just stating “not installed” in a grey box where usually the install button is.
Atp I just want to get the launcher off my device but no matter how many times I stop the task manually there’s always an error popping up as the launcher is “running in the background” and can’t be deleted.

Edit: Nvm I got the launcher deleted, it just took another restart + stopping the task the moment it was on again, Idk why it didn’t work before but now it did!!
