First off, I’d like to apologize for having almost no idea what I’m doing. I recently downloaded and installed Unreal, but when I try to start it, the mouse circle thing spins for a few seconds and then nothing happens. When I look in task manager, I see the task appear, but then it goes away after a few seconds. I looked on the wiki and it said I should post here. I’ve attached my Logs file and my DxDiag report. Thanks in advance!
Is it a problem that my graphics card is an Nvidia Geforce 7600 GS. That seems pretty far below the system requirements.
Hi Superhq 2000,
I do believe it’s a combination of your Graphics Card, Ram, and Dual-Core processor.
Here is the recommended specs to run the editor:
You can try bypassing the Launcher and open the Editor directly by opening the .exe. This will make sure that it isn’t a Launcher related issue. If the Editor still doesn’t open then it is most likely hardware related.
C:\Program Files\Unreal Engine\4.6\Engine\Binaries\Win64\UE4Editor.exe
(Your drive letter and engine version maybe different)
I only have CrashReport Client, UnrealEngineLauncher, and UnrealVersionSelector. There is no UE4Editor.exe
Hi Superhq2000,
Looking at your logs it looks like the problem is with your graphics card and DirectX. Please use TJ’s link for info on recommended specs.
