Launcher Data Corrupted

UE4 crashed when importing some FBX files (system overheat & shutdown), and it subsequently will not launch the Epic Launcher.

I have repaired and tried to reinstall, but it keeps telling me that the data is corrupt and the launcher has to be verified. Not sure how to do that.

I have several engine version including vanilla compiles from the GitHub. I’m afraid to uninstall the who thing.

I can load a project by re-linking the project file to the correct engine, and in the midst of opening the project, I will still get the launcher error, but the project loads anyway.

Please advise.

Hi SterlingY,

Is it the launcher or the editor that is causing this error? If it is the launcher, please visist http://help.epicgames.com/ for technical support, here you can find information and solutions for common issues, as well as a contact form if you still need additional assistance.

If it is the editor, are you able to open the project via the .uproject file in your \Unreal Projects\PROJECTNAME\ filepath?

It’s the launcher. Thanks for the link. I’ll head over there.

Cheers,

Sterling

P.S. You rock, as always!
