Launch Character Event Without Setting to Falling State

I want to create a dash for my character where it functions the same way as the “Launch Character” event, but without switching the character state to falling. Instead I want to maintain the state it’s currently in.

Add Impulse and Add Force do not work how I want them to, even if I switch them to ludicrously high amounts my character just stands still because I disable the ability to move during the dash.

So all I want is a way to use Launch Character without the state change, I’ve looked around practically everywhere but I can’t find any workaround or check the source code of the Launch Character event. I’m new to UE so I could have missed something obvious, any help is greatly appreciated!
