Hello everyone.
As you can see on a screenshot, my lattice tool doesn’t work at all. I don’t know why. I’m making a new box in a modeling tab and can’t use that option. I tried to make more resolutions in any direction, but still nothing. Maybe somebody here knows the answer.
Thanks in advance!
Hey there @PMCreator! Welcome to the community! I have a couple questions!
Which version of Unreal is this project in?
Does the shape have enough face density to deform in the center?
Do the corner vertices of the lattice work?
Does the lattice tool work in other versions or on other meshes?
Hi there! @SupportiveEntity
So I’m using for that specific project UE 5.0.3.
I tried to add more resolution and still nothing, if by density you mean resolution in axis.
It’s working for corners indeed.
Doesn’t work with 5.2.1
I tried with sphere and it’s working properly. Maybe it’s something broken with a box shape. I tried to change shape by doing PolyEd, normal editing, and PolyDef but still, lattice doesn’t work. Even if I’m trying to keep a box in a basic shape, the lattice doesn’t work.
Not so much the axis resolution, but more how many subdivisions the cube itself has when you create it.
Either create the cube with some subdivisions this way:
or add subdivisions to the cube:
Then try the lattice out.
I just wanted to thank you so much. I returned from my holidays, and I had to try it. It worked! You’re amazing!
Fantastic! Basically if there isn’t enough vertices for any of the operations they will fail, in sometimes odd ways.
Yeah, I just had to create a box with more subdivision, and that worked well. So simple solution after month
