I know I am a little late to the party looking for some people to team up for the mod contest.
I have been going over some of the other forums looking at some of mods here which some are very good ideas. And I want to join the fun and maybe forum a long lasting team.
I wish to forum a team together who would like to continue to work together on other project after this contest. Or also happy to join a team.
So you know what you’re getting it with me.
Skill: I have little experience with UE4 and Ark Dev kit. I used UDK a year ago as a level design for a project.
I am a game design student but mostly have worked with Unity for the bast 3 year but I like UE4 a lot so it wont take me long to get use to UE4.
I prefer programming and creating game mechanic and and game play for core loops. But also able to model (can not texture lol or make foliage.) and simple animations (but these are not my strong point). I am best with level design when given an asset folder to create what I want with it or also able to follow concept designs.
My non dev skills are good with project management, Community manager and everything else :L
I start away texturing and leave that to someone else :L
If I can have some volunteers who are looking to find a team then skills I would be in need of someone to join would be 3D modeller, Animator and UI. Feel free to PM me with details of your exp and type of mod/games you would like to work on??
Type of mods I am thinking of working on (happy to work on someone else’s idea if I like :D):
Space mod (mars is already been done :/)
Fantasy/RPG - The possibility to bring spells to Ark and having safe zones(in cities players cannot attack each other) and gamplay style that similar to UO (Ultima Online) and/or Entropia Universe This would also bring in NPC’s with shops to purchase items rather then having to craft them yourself, this would take out learning Engrams and encourage more player interaction with safe Zones in “unattributable cities and trade posts” Player could also still build outside cities, It would be made much harder to destroy a players structure. but outside cities its a PVP. may also have safe zones around some PvE areas but this is debatable.
Competitive - there are a few ways a competitive mod could go. there would be a play as a Dino but making so only one T-Rex per team etc… this would involve a strategy to mixing up a variety of dions on a team. To create a strategic game play or even have starting bases with pre tamed dinos that players can use to gain kills or use weapon drops to gain ideal weapons in battle, There are many variation here that can allow for making small maps (no dions) or just 4v4 or large teams of 20+ per team giving or playing as Dinos to battle or the competitive maps. even a CTF (or capture the Egg) could be implemented.
