Lastest update of launcher disappear from tray icon

Hello everyone,

After the last update, the launcher disappear from tray icon.
I’m wondering if this is only on my computer or because of the update.
The launcher closes automatically when a project is open.
This is really annoying when I close a project and want to launch another project.
I have to re-open the launcher again and wait for 5 or 10 minutes to have the launcher open again.
The previous version of the launcher was very practical : an icon is always on the tray icon, we just have to click on it and open epic game launcher in 1 second.

If it is because of the last update, this might be a request to make the launcher stays on tray icon even if a project is open.
Or if anyone has a solution to make the tray icon always visible, thanks in advance.

In the launcher click the little gear icon (settings button) in the top right, from there select the option “Enable minimize to system tray”.

My launcher doesn’t close when opening a project, so I’m not sure what might be causing that, but hopefully changing that setting will fix it.

Thanks for your answer.
Minimize to system tray was already activated.
The launcher does minimize to tray but when the mouse hovers on the tray icon, it disappears.
Enable or disable “Minimize to system tray”, the laucher always closes automatically.

When you say it disappears, does it go into the notification hidden icon section? On windows 7 to 10 there should be a little button in the notification tray that looks like ^ a little up arrow, if you click it is the launcher icon there? If it is, let me know and I can give you instructions on how to prevent it from hiding itself (it’s an option in Windows).

If it is not in the hidden section, could you please right click on your taskbar and select “Task Manager” then look through the list of programs to see if “EpicGamesLauncher” is present. If it’s in the list, the program is still running in the background, can you confirm whether it is present when the icon disappears?

I set my system tray icon to always show all programs (disable the ^ button)
EpicGamesLauncher does not appear on Task Manager. Only UE4Editor does.
Before the lastest update (from last week), the Launcher was still on tray icon and I could right click on it to launch whenever I want (unless I right click and then click “Exit”).

The last update for the launcher causes the launcher to crash whenever you open up a ue4 project with it. Anyone else experiencing this?

The launcher crashes every time I load a project since the last update also.

The launcher is finally OK after yesterday’s update
