Last moment to download Quixel Megascans

I read the FAQ, but still don’t understand everything about the migration, and want to be sure when would be the last moment to claim/download the free Megascans.

For example, in:
“Any Megascans content that you got for free via Unreal Engine can be downloaded anew from Fab.”.
Am I being too literal if doubting on downloading from the Quixel website or Quixel Bridge for UE? Or is this referring to the UE Marketplace? I remember Epic saying that not all Megascans were going to be available on Fab.

Also I know that it says this: “All Megascans will be free until the end of 2024 under Fab’s Standard License”, but is it referring to the specific Fab Megascans, or to the Quixel ones?
Of course I’m being extremely cautious, but I think it’s necessary in this situation.

So my main question is: is it necessary to download everything to a local disk before Fab opens? That would give a lot of us only a couple of days to buy that storage and migrate everything.

EDIT:
“You can still access Megascans through Quixel.com and Bridge.”
This gives me the strong impression that we have time until 2025, but is “access” the same as “possibility to buy/claim”?

Hey there @Campazzobili! The FAQ’s seem to state that you will have a method of adding the megascans content that you had previously acquired on Quixel to your FAB library through FAB itself.

Any Megascans that you add to your library on Fab during this promotion period, you will be entitled to use under the terms of the Fab Standard License even after the promotion period ends. Please be aware that simply downloading a free Megascan on Fab in 2024 will not grant you this entitlement - you need to use the “Add to library” option.

For additional access and updates, make sure that your Megascans have been added to your Fab library after Fab launches.

It seems you’ll be able to access them through the FAB standard license but only if claimed through the method that will be available. Once the platform releases, we’ll likely also receive more information about the steps to transition.

Yes, that’s true! However, we still don’t know if all assets can be transferred using this method, so it appears that downloading them would be safer. I just hope that the opening of Fab doesn’t prohibit having these objects…
