Large triangles get very inaccurate texture

Hi!

I am doing a photogrammetry project and everything else works really well, but mesh triangles that fall into places where pointcloud has no points get very blurry texturing.

I have tested the same payload with many other photogrammetry processing solutions as well and the others like Pix4d somehow fill these triangles with “estimated” texture. IN pix4d the pointcloud is also missing the points in the same area - so its not really about alignment issue.

This is almost the only problem that prevents us from using RealityCapture in real projects…

Try to set higher value for Large triangle removal threshold in the unwrap settings (like to 1000):


If you already have created texture, you will need to unwrap the model again begore texturing.

Hmm, I am really wondering how other processing software can kind of easily fill these big triangles with decent texturing…

Realitycapture would be great without this problem! :slight_smile:

What unwrap settings have you used?
