Hello,
I am looking for a solution to edit large animation sets and adapt them to my project needs.
For eg. taking a locomotion set designed for a ranged weapon and adapt the upper body pose to hold a melee weapon or a different type of ranged weapon. Mostly relative to upper body joint hierarchy.
My approach would be either Maya or Motionbuilder
Maya would require additional rigging or use HIK to develop the animations.
Motionbuilder offers HIK and takes/story mode to handle several animations within one file.
I am thinking to create a base pose that would be inherited by every animation file in the set, basically save the absolute position of the upper body controls and paste those values for each animation so it matches up.
I cannot quite figure what is the best approach for this, manually it would be time intensive, a pose library could work there, or even a script solution.
If an animation set contains 40-70 locomotion animations, editing each one needs to have the same star/end pose.
Any ideas?
