Landscape Texture's Roughness Different per Square

Im not sure what is wrong. if you look at the image, random squares on the landscape are showing different roughness. My material roughness is static and I don’t know what is causing this issue. Any ideas?

Thank you

Actually, that pattern doesn’t look random to me. It looks like it’s happening with every cell that’s passed by a river/stream/lake, with a few outliers. Water plugin might be involved?

So I tried messing with the water a bit, but it did not have any effect. I looked around a bit to see if there was a correlation with the water. There was some commonality between them, but there were also other sections with no water that had the same issue. Unfortunately, the image doesn’t show it well.

However the good news is that I was able to fix the problem. I just have no idea why what i did fixed it.

When I built my landscape texture, I used material functions to make individual materials then linked them to the landscape layer blend node. I mostly did this to keep everything organized and clean in the blueprints.

However, when I changed it to using non-function materials, all the weird roughness issues stopped and every thing looks like it should.

If anyone has any idea, I would love to know why material functions connected to a landscape blend node caused this.

Thanks
