Landscape optimization


I’m working on a racing game and for that my landscapes are 4k in resolution. UE4 is pretty flexible in terms of landscape but I want to know the best settings for a 4k terrain in a racing game. Since it can be set to drain all the frames or set out to be so light weight but look poor in return.

In short, basically I need to know how many sections, quads, etc. are recommended by Epic (or someone who has a high experience with this) for such a game where terrain is an important part and I also want to have a high FPS rate.

Have you looked at the Racing Game example and checked out their terrain and settings? I think that should give you some valuable insight as to how they did things.
