Landscape Material = black landscape

I’ve researched for hours and haven’t found someone who has quite the same problem. Yes, it’s about a black landscape! I created a custom landscape and material per this tutorial:

The problem I am having is that the “LayerBlend” object for the normal textures, as shown in the tutorial, makes the landscape turn black when I apply the material to the landscape. I made sure to create the “Landscape Layer Info” objects for each of the textures - the “Base Color” and the “Normal”. I cannot see what is different about what I am doing versus the tutorial. Something to do with the “Normal” LayerBlend is the issue, I think. If I connect one of the Normal texture RGB outputs directly to the “Normal” terminal, the black landscape does not occur. I can’t figure this out … any help would be appreciated!
