A layer name is specified and I painted this layer on the landscape but I can’t paint this foliage on any layer.
If I delete the layer name without touching anything else, I can paint this foliage (everywhere because there’s no layer restriction)
I checked and re re re checked the layer name and it’s the good one. There’s no space anywhere in the layer name
I tried tweaking the “maximum layer weight” setting, same result: can’t paint foliage.
I also tryied using the asset name of the layer 'HighGrass_LayerInfo : can’t paint foliage.
So… Is this option broken or am I missing something?
I got the same mistake some days ago, and I discovered that it happens when you rotate your landscape. For some reasons I rotated it to fited what I want and after that this option never worked again, but seting it again to 0,0,0 rotation, the layer options for paint foliage works again. Try it, but I still do not know if it is intentioned or just to bug, but in my case it would be better to adjust the landscape instead of the main geometry of the narrative.
@THA Thanks so much for writing this answer. It solved my problem as well. Landscape rotation must be at 0,0,0 in order for foliage paint on layers to work. I’m sure this is a bug, but its the current environment. Epic can we get some clarification on this?
