Landscape Layer Blend Turns Material Black

I am trying to create a landscape material in UE5. I have it set up simply for now with two diffuse textures. If I plug one texture directly into base color it shows. If I got through the layer blend it turns black.

I am using weight blending with a preview weight of 0.5. I have another project with this same set up and it works without fail. I tried restarting the editor, but it still happens.

EDIT: The material preview stays black, but today out of the blue the layers are showing up under landscape paint and I can use them. I don’t know what caused it to change.

I’m glad your problem has been solved. I do have another problem simmeller to you.
Whenever I paint my landscape with any other material than the first (default) one I get black boxes.
Why does that happen and what can I do about it?

I was encountering this problem of being black because the Nanite Skirt was active, maybe it will be useful for you too.
