I’m trying to create a landscape of an aprox. 50x20km wide island, I’ve been experimenting with several diferent heightmap sizes and what not… but everyone comes out like this.
I’ve came to know that using the greyscale 16bit photoshop setup works. But for me… it worked once. Then didnt work anymore… sometimes I can’t even save as a PNG
Hi, it looks to be the resolution of the heightmap png not being high enough for your landscape size. Does it look the same when you use a smaller landscape?
I’m using the recommended resolution by the unreal documentation, in this case, the 8129x8129 one, but I replicated for other resolutions and it does look the same.
I managed to understand what was missing, even tho I still have some work to do on the model, it no longer shows those obvious and blantant stair-like artifacts.
I implemented the gaussian blur, applied the grayscale mode and 16 bit, and it now works fine!
