Landscape FPS

When I create a new level and add the lighting actors, my FPS hit 180. However, as soon as I import a landscape from a heightmap, no matter the landscape size, it plummets to 90/100 FPS. It’s getting very frustrating.

Any settings I should fiddle with?

Working with UE 5.2, I don’t know if it’s the same with 5.1.

You really can’t tell the true FPS impact of your landscape until you package it and check the framerate from there. The editor is rendering a lot of edit features, plus maintaining all the GUI.

Also, with UE5 I’ve noticed that my base projects with just landscape do run slower than older versions, but adding the foliage, roads and assets etc doesn’t take as much of a hit - it’s like some of that time is being used to optimize larger numbers of meshes/nanite etc.
