Landscape/Editing Feedback

If these are on a list somewhere or even exist already, awesome.

Wireframe overlay on in lit/sold view would really help in editing landscapes. You can check for form, spikey vertices, makes smoothing easier and even painting will be more accurate. Especially the cleanup involved with the spline tool, the only good way to check for wacky verts is to play it in editor.

Gizmo free rotation, movement and scale. One thing I’ve noticed in constructing larger environments in UE4, is that I’ll take implementation speed over accuracy any day. Having to actually target the small area on the screen for gizmo actions is time consuming when you are placing 200 rocks by hand. But, if it didn’t matter where my mouse cursor was and by holding a key my movements where translate to the selected actor, it would be much faster. I know you guys are adding snap to ground movement which is awesome- but grabbing the small space between the X and Y translators that lets you move in both, can be slow. Placing a tree or rock doesn’t need to be accurate, I’m slamming those into the ground.

Where the gizmos come in handy is architectural construction, where accuracy is valuable.

Thanks for listening!

Another addition- angle based painting. Why do the detection with materials when the paint tool could do it in the editor? This way you could also use layer info from WM.
