Landscape becomes blocky after saving the level

I imported a heightmap and created a landscape out of it. Gave it a lake and modeled a little lake overview area. My problem is this: every time after I save (ctrl+s or any other way), my landscape gets deformed and becomes blocky. What turns it back to normal is any kind of editing to the landscape like a simple click with any brush but then every time I try to save my changes the landscape just gets deformed again. I’m attaching screenshots of the before and after saving.

After enabling Nanite in the details of the landscape, this bug no longer happens.
