recently i tried to import a tiled landscape (complete resolution 16k) into Unreal Engine 5.2.1 (release version). The heightmap was created with the latest Gaea version.
My computers specs: 32 GB Ram, 7900XTX (24GB vRAM)
At some point during the import an error appeared saying that there isn’t enough vRAM.
I had the task manager opened at the same time and the vRAM allocation was at about 40%. What did fill up was the “Shared GPU memory”, which is only 16GB.
Is this the expected behaviour that the import of a heightmap is limited by the “Shared GPU memory” and not it’s vRAM?
