Laggy 2D Sprites in 3D scene

Hi
I am making a game with a 2D sprite inside a 3D world. When I create the animation in a flipbook, it runs normally, but as soon as I place my sprite in the scene, it becomes really laggy.
I have tried to recreate it in an earlier version of the program (I am originally in UE 5.3, and I tried in 4.27) and I do not have this problem.
I believe the problem might be associated with Lumen, but I have tried to look how to fix it, with no results.
In every tutorial I look up that explains how to make 2D sprites, noone has the same problem, so I am really stuck here.

Closer video so you can see what I’m talking about
Also, the sprite quality is good, it is not blurry inside the editor, just in the scene

Can you turn antialiasing and motion blur off and try again?

Can you set you graphics quality to low and tell if it is still like this?
Settings (Project and Editor Settings) → Engine Scalability Settings → Low

Hi
I have the motion blur disabled and I have tried every antianalising methods, it does change the way the sprite is, but it is still blurry. Putting the scalability settings also does not help. I might just retrograde the project in UE 4.27 because it seems easier

Sorry I couldn’t help. I don’t have much experience with 2D.
Still there are a lot of people with similar problems both in the forum and on Reddit so look around.
(Also check your texture settings and your material shader before changing engine versions  )

No problem, thanks for trying :grinning:
